Benzino Does Interview From Hospital Bed

Update: Benzino’s nephew is now claiming self defense! “My client and his family, including Maureen [Scott] vehemently deny any accusations that Benzino is making. I would suggest that he [the uncle] has an agenda in utilizing and self-promoting at this time,” said the attorney Christopher B. Coughlin on behalf of Maureen Scott, Benzino’s sister and Gai Scott’s mother.

In case you missed it: “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star Benzino was shot twice this weekend by his nephew, Gai Scott. Benzino was trying to avoid his mother’s funeral that was happening at the same time, but ended up on the same path as the rest of his family who were attending the morbid event. Benzino suffered non-fatal injuries and recovered in the hospital where he was visited by friends and family.

The reality star spoke to the Boston Globe from his hospital bed (as if he was going to let the opportunity to be interviewed go by…no matter the circumstance) and cites a bitter family rivalry as the cause of the violent showdown. Benzino’s nephew plead “not guilty” to armed assault with intent to murder.

Ironically, Benzino said he chose not to go to the funeral because he didn’t want any problems. “I can love my mother and there doesn’t have to be any problems with family,” he said.

Zino described the encounter saying, “I looked over, there was a car, and all I saw was a gun shooting at me,” Benzino said. “I was trying to duck and dodge, drive around it, maneuver the car. . . . I was bleeding a lot. I was driving with my thumb in my shoulder to try to stop the bleeding.”

Benzino (and the rest of the crew, newcomers) are gearing up for the forthcoming season of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” While we won’t go as far as to say this was a huge publicity stunt, it is definitely garnering attention around the show. Rumor has it…cameras may have been filming!

Woman Sues 2 Chainz For Calling Her A “THOT”

Rapper 2 Chainz is being sued after videotaping a young woman named Tina and labeling her a THOT. In case you are scratching your head on this one, THOT stands for “that hoe over there.” (The things people make up these days…).

Tina somehow found herself face to face with 2 Chainz (or face to chest; 2 Chainz is over 6 feet tall) backstage at his concert while searching for a man she said she met on Instagram named Cap 1…except Cap 1 took one look at Tina and said “Nah, I’m straight.”

2 Chainz then warned Tina that she was being recorded (after filming her for several minutes already) and she responded “Oh sh*t, this is going on a blog? Do I Look good?”

Well 2 Chainz posted the video on his blog (as promised) and started an entire hashtag #isthatyothot behind it. Tina claims that she is embarrassed and is lawyered up!

She tweeted:

“I feel like @hairweavekiller [2 Chainz] should feel as much embarrassment as I have endured these last couple of days for what he has done to my life, he has not apologized publicly and tries to contact me privately. Everyone re post this at @breakfastclubam@cthagod @angelayee @djenvy because 2 chainz should be the #donkyoftheday let’s get me on the breakfast club so I have a chance to tell my side of the story!”

“I’m at my lawyers right now, finalizing the paperwork, be prepared for a civil lawsuit @hairweavekiller@caviardreamz_ you had no right do ruin my life and tarnish my image like this! Now you will both answer for it!”

Tina did come across as thirsty, but we’re not really feeling how 2 Chainz and crew treated her. It was embarrassing watching them laugh at her when in reality, groupie culture is something perpetuated by both sides. She wasn’t doing anything new or that we haven’t seen before.

Drake and Rihanna made their relationship official, but there are some people who aren’t so gung-ho about it. According to some random girls tweets (we know, we know…take this with a grain of salt) Drake’s peeps aren’t feeling Ri Ri’s witch-with-a-B attitude!

A friend of a friend was allegedly invited to chill with Drizzy’s entourage where she overheard them dissing Ri Ri. Sarah O took to Twitter to air out their comments, including a disturbing one about her deserving to be hit by Chris Brown.

Since we have no clue who this chick is, we’re going to file this under the he said, she said column.

Ravens RB Ray Rice Marries Girlfriend To Avoid Jail Time?

Remember that really disturbing video of football star Ray Rice dragging his unconscious girlfriend Janay Palmer out of a hotel elevator after allegedly attacking her with a vicious uppercut? Rice was indicted on third-degree aggravated assault charge on Thursday and the lovebirds got married Friday.

Queen Latifah Opens Up About Falling In Love

Queen Latifah is mostly private about her love life and sexuality but opened up about them in the JET Magazine. The Queen, who’s day time talk show is thriving, revealed a trying time in her life when her faith was questioned.

“The biggest thing to ever test my personal faith was the loss of my brother in a motorcycle accident… I believed it ruined my life,” she revealed. “I probably had a five-year interruption in any type of personal growth. There were some things I didn’t learn in my twenties because I was disconnected emotionally. I could only get so close or feel so much.”

Love helped her get out of that dark place, “It was like a circuit breaker had switched off,” she said before venturing off into wanting to have children.

“I’ve wanted to adopt since I was 18 because I grew up with friends who could’ve used good parents,” she told Jet. “Maybe it’s my romanticism of after-school specials where someone would adopt a child and life would be great afterward. I have a lot of love to give.”

Posthumous Michael Jackson Album To Be Released In May

New music from the late Michael Jackson will be released on a new album titled “Xscape,” Epic Records and MJ’s estate have announced! Expect eight never-before-heard tracks on the album that drops May 13. LA Reid, Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon and John McClain are among the album’s producers.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,” Reid said in a statement on Monday. “We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”

According to Billboard, in MJ album Tradition, “the title track was written and produced by Jackson and Jerkins, who recorded the original with the singer.”
